We
fear that with the cold temperatures
up in the mountains that some many die.
It got so cold, it actually snowed, which
isn't a good thing.
We're talking about poor
villagers, with dirt floors and poor
nutrition that already spend most of the day
scrounging kindling to cook their food. They
don't have money to buy extra clothes and
blankets - or extra time to collect more
firewood. To matters worse, there's already
enough sickness going around, regardless of
the cold.
We're already taking precaution by
stocking up on the medicines needed for
sicknesses like Pneumonia, which is a major
killer for the clinic villages. Pneumonia
has killed several babies at the clinic this
year.
It's obvious preventative measures are best, in which we hope the
blanket project will go well this year. Our
goal is 1,000 blankets, the ones we get cost
$5.25 a piece. We're channeling donations to
Hands of Hope for blankets this season, as
they are most needed. To donate to the 2006
Blanket Project,
